Nutmeg is the dried kernel of the nutmeg fruit, supplied shelled and graded by count per pound and by soundness. Grading distinguishes sound whole nutmeg from broken and substandard grades. It is traded to spice grinders, bakery manufacturers and essential oil distillers.
