In India, the Spices Board has it's own Quality Evaluation & Upgradation Laboratory certified by the British Standards Institution (BSI) for the Quality Management System. The Quality Management Systems of the laboratory is as per ISO 9002:1994. It is well equipped with instruments like GC-FTIR, HPTLC, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, Spectrophotometer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer etc. to undertake the analysis of spices and spice products to meet international standards. |

We ensure that all our products are tested for quality under the analytical services extended to us by the laboratory for the analysis of spices and spice products for physical, chemical and microbial contaminants. |

Besides, the Board organises a series of quality upgradation programmes to improve the quality of spices at the farmers, traders and exporters level. The Board also undertakes a series of training programmes, to educate the farmers, traders and exporters on the production of quality spices. The training programmes are conducted by the Board jointly with Export Inspection Agency, Directorate of Marketing & Inspection, Agricultural Universities and Department of Horticulture/ Agriculture in spice growing states. |
